System monitoring and information on traffic and road conditions - Development strategy and pilot project - A1 motorway for CNADNR

Traffic and Information System for A1 Motorway was the first complete ITS System developed on Romanian Motorways including:

• Traffic Monitoring and counting using several technologies (inductive loops, video detection, radar)
• Weather monitoring and prognosis
• Weight in Motion System
• Variable Message Signs (VMS)
• Automatic incident detection
• Video monitoring
• Integrated Control Center

We were responsible within the project for:

• Site survey
• Elaboration of ITS concept design and  technical solutions
• Elaboration of the design documentation for the implementation systems
• Analysis of the technical project developed by the supplier
• Monitoring the provider's activities
• Technical and financial compliance assessment
